Nio (NYSE: NIO) completed delivery of its 200,000th ES6 this past weekend, on the one-year anniversary of the launch of the model's second-generation.

The electric vehicle (EV) maker delivered the vehicle to an owner in Shanghai. Since 2019, Nio ES6 has cumulatively sold more than 31,000 units in Shanghai, Nio said today in a post on its mobile app.

As of the end of April, more than 127,000 units of the first-generation ES6 had been delivered, and the second-generation ES6 has sold more than 73,000 units in the past year.

Nio released the first-generation ES6 based on the NT 1.0 platform in December 2018 and began delivering the model in June 2019 in China.

The new ES6 based on the NT 2.0 platform was launched on May 24, 2023, and deliveries began on the same day.

Currently, the Nio ES6 is only available in one trim with a starting price of RMB 338,000 ($46,650), but customers can choose a 75-kWh standard range battery pack or pay the extra cost to get a 100-kWh long-range battery pack.

If customers choose to purchase the vehicle based on the BaaS (battery as a service) model, the starting price is lowered to RMB 268,000, and the monthly rental fee for the 75 kWh and 100 kWh battery packs is RMB 728 and RMB 1,128, respectively.

Nio delivered 15,620 vehicles in April, bringing cumulative deliveries since inception to 495,267.

By the end of April, cumulative ES6 deliveries stood at 195,562 vehicles, contributing 39.5 percent of Nio's deliveries, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
