We're very pleased to partner with the Media Federation of Australia again in 2024 to recognise and celebrate the best in the business.
MFA Awards and MFA EX are not possible without the support of our generous partners, such as Gold Sponsor Ad Standards, which shares our vision in making our people and our industry better at what we do. Ad Standards Executive Director Richard Bean said: “Ad Standards is delighted to once again sponsor MFA EX and the MFA Awards. Media agencies are fundamental to Australia’s system of advertising self-regulation. These events not only provide an opportunity to thank the MFA and media agencies for their support, but also a chance to build awareness of Ad Standard’ role in helping to ensure that every ad is a responsible ad. We’re excited to connect with colleagues and collaborate on initiatives that drive positive impact.” Sophie Madden Chris Colter Sophie Price Grant LeQuesne Sophie Langton Catherine Rushton Max Broer Lisa Leach Jessica Havard Nicole Taylor #MFA #MFAawards2024 #MFAex2024 #wearethechangers

They used to say sex sells, however in 2023 sex, sexuality and nudity was the issue that attracted the most community complaints. The AANA Code of Ethics is clear: advertisers must treat sex, sexuality and nudity with sensitivity. It's crucial to be mindful of your audience and avoid overtly sexual content, especially in public spaces. Find out more about the advertising rules here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gBSfq2yi We also provide expert advice to advertisers, agencies, media providers and businesses who want to check how ads measure up against the advertising rules, get advice here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gXeF2TyV

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulates ads for therapeutic goods. The Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code covers things like misleading content, product comparisons, safe and proper use of therapeutic goods, endorsements and testimonials and advertising to children. The TGA have released some useful guidance to help advertisers determine if a product is a therapeutic good, or a cosmetic good. Follow the link below. Of course, consumers can still make a complaint to Ad Standards about the content of a therapeutic good or cosmetic good ad when there is an issue that falls within our advertising codes (e.g. advertising disclosure, health and safety, violence, offensive language or nudity). View the AANA advertising codes here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eJz9FJGF
We’ve published guidance on our website to assist you in determining if a product is a cosmetic or a therapeutic good, and how to comply with the regulatory requirements for therapeutic goods in Australia, including the advertising requirements.
