We LOVE this record player. My husband and I started collecting vinyls a few years ago and at first had a smaller record player with built in speakers. It did the trick, but we knew we wanted something a little more…Once we upgraded to this player there was such a huge upgrade in sound quality that certain albums that we didn’t listen to much because the old player couldn’t do them justice suddenly were in regular rotation. The value of this player is 👌🏻.We are obsessed, there is just something about the vibe a record player gives off that nothing else can. 😌 It’s my favourite way listen to music.I would also like to say that the company that makes them - 1byone - has some the the BEST customer service I have ever dealt with. We use our player so much the belt stretched out and with one email they promptly sent us a replacement free of any charges. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. Just buy it, you won’t regret it!!

This came recommended to me and I'm happy I listened to the recommendation. It was a little tricky to set up, but I'm incredibly happy with the sound quality. I like that I didn't have to purchase speakers, and this is exactly what I was looking for. I have the speakers on the same console as the turntable, and no issues with it! Nice and compact, very happy with this purchase and have recommended it to lots of pals.

Changer is manual, but if you're careful, it works very well. The sound quality is surprising for what I expected. Not fancy, but easy to use, and I'm very satisfied with it. I would hesitate to give this to anyone who tends to be careless.

We were looking for a simple turntable system so we could start playing our vinyl again. Saw this and since reviews were good, gave it a try. It's a nice looking unit, not too big and easy to assemble. I like the belt driven turntable. Sound is reasonable, but a simple bass/treble control would help and would have given it a 5 star rating.

I have been buying Vinyl for a couple of years now without a player, and I took the dive and got this one as an entry level starter. The first thing I noticed upon unpacking was the weight and quality. Once I put it together (super easy), I played Air - Moon Safari on it... It sounded so awesome, and I noticed things I hadn't before, even after listening to the album thousands of times. If you are in any doubt, don't be worried, this is a great system. Buy it. I listen to alot of metal and it sounds great lots of base, very acute, accurate, and alive. Love it. If I could make one suggestion, supply longer speaker wires. But that's it.

We have been looking for a decent record player that sounds good, doesn’t skip, and also is aesthetically pleasing, at an affordable cost. We started with the suitcase record players and those skip way too much and soon realized that decent record players get expensive quickly. This record player met all of our needs and was worth the extra little bit of money. The adjustable counterweight is key so that records don’t skip which suitcase record players don’t have. Might I add my boyfriend was sceptical before ordering this and when it arrived he was very impressed when he realized it sounded and worked as well as it looks.
Downside- takes patience to set up it’s a little finicky but once it’s set up it’s easy to use! Also comes with bookshelf speakers which sound great only there is no bass

This was an upgrade record player for my daughter who had a suitcase type all in one as her first record player. This wireless turntable with external speakers is heads and tails better than her starter one. Easy to set up with clear written instructions, it also had additional videos to aid in the set up. I have to say I was pretty blown away by the sound quality. Not as good as my childhood Hi-Fi set up but really good non the less. Not only does the system look amazing it provides great sound as well. I am extremely happy with our purchase and more importantly my daughter loves listening to her vinyl collection the way it was meant to be. I would not hesitate to recommend this turntable to any up and coming vinyl enthusiasts.

I love the look and sound of this player. I gave four stars because a couple of days ago it started clicking off when it wasn't supposed to, for example when moving the needle over to play the album. I let an album play to the end where there is an automatic shut off, and this seems to have reset the player for now. If this player is faulty I would probably return and rebuy another as I am that satisfied.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful turntable, amazing quality, and good included speakers.

Let me start by saying that you need to assemble this turntable. The assembly is very simple and the instructions are detailed and easy to follow, but if you are worried about assembling it then maybe take a second consideration before buying it. I think if you are spending this much money on a turntable you should know how it works, and assembling it is a good way to learn that. You'll also learn how to do simple repairs in case they are needed.

CONSTRUCTION:
I was very impressed with the quality of the turntable. The wood is very high quality and solid. It doesn't feel like a piece of plastic with a wood coating or a piece of composite board. Even if the grain pattern is a coating, the wood underneath is definitely high quality. The metal that makes up the tone arm is some sort of lightweight aluminum I think and it has a very nice black powder coating. Again, you can tell that the coating is very high quality. I am curious about how both of these elements will wear and will update this review after a few months of use, but at this points I don't expect it to happen any time soon. The hinge for the dust cover is heavy and conveniently sits open so that you don't need to hold it while you change the record or move the needle. It is made of a high quality clear plastic with a nice logo on top; not at all gaudy, it actually looks nice on the cover. The rubber buttons for selecting speed, playback mode, and start/stop have a nice click. The volume knob for the included speakers is plastic and feels kind of cheap. It wiggles around in its socket and doesn't have the weight to it that the rest of the turntable does. The iron platter is also solid and the included slip mat is a nice touch. You could even use the slip mat to scratch the record if you wanted, but I wouldn't consider this a DJ turntable. All the ports on the back are clearly labeled and the switches for power and output level are solid. The feet are not adjustable so you will need to set it on a level surface or use some paper/cards to level it. The included needle is an AT3600L which is an industry standard entry level needle. It's nothing fancy but its nice to see them include a needle from a trusted brand rather than a knockoff or cheap item that needs to be replaced soon.

PERFORMANCE:

The belt drive is silent. This could change in the coming months and I will update the review if so, but currently it is so silent that I am not worried about it. The belt is easy to access so you will never have any issues replacing it when the time comes. The sound from the line output is very loud and sounds great on my home audio receiver. I haven't tested the phono mode because I have no need to - the line level signals sound perfectly fine and I don't have a particularly nice phono pre anyway. What is weird is that you will need your own phono ground cord because there is just a ground post on the turntable. I've never seen that. I like that the bluetooth is built into the turntable because I now have a bluetooth input for my receiver. You can get output from both the RCAs and the speaker outs which is nice because you could potentially run sound to two different rooms or devices. The included speaker wire is a nice touch - it's even already stripped. I also appreciated the included USB cord. I am going to run a spectral analysis of a file recorded via USB and update my review after that’s done to test the quality of the file over USB. One minor annoyance is that there is no way to know if the turntable is set to 33 or 45 rpm, you always have to press a button before to make sure. I haven’t noticed the auto-power-off issue that others have noticed, and I enjoy that the turntable powers itself after a while so I don’t have to remember to hit the switch every time I leave the house. I have the turntable set on top of my 10” subwoofer and haven’t noticed any skipping - the belt and feet do a great job of isolating vibrations.

SOUND:

The sound of this turntable is perfectly adequate for a built-in preamp and the included needle. It isn’t the highest quality, but if that’s what you want you can buy a nicer needle and amp. That doesn’t mean the sound coming out of the turntable’s line output - it’s crisp, clear, and preserves the warmth of the vinyl. As I mentioned, there is no skipping from vibrations or the tone arm (make sure you spend the time to calibrate the counterweight though). The platter spins at the correct speed even though the belt doesn’t feel particularly elastic or thick, but I want to see how long it lasts before I have to replace it. The included speakers are solid for this price. They are LOUD for 18W speakers! I have no idea how they sound in a crowded room but I had them at half volume while home alone and found it too loud. The speaker quality is decent. I was surprised at how good these small speakers sounded even though I wouldn’t call them audiophile quality. The bass was impressive and had plenty of thump, but at times could get overly aggressive. I would have appreciated a little more tone and not so much knock. The mids were usually muddy, but not to the point that the music was unenjoyable. Highs were clear and not overpowering but I would have appreciated a little more presence. Despite these caveats I want to say that the sound quality was very good and exceeded my expectations for speakers this size and price. You will not be disappointed for what these speakers are, and they could easily serve as your primary set of speakers until you are ready to invest in something more expensive.

MISC:

The included accessories are fantastic. USB cable and speaker wire are much appreciated. I love having a usb port built in - it makes it much easier to sample my records for my music or to save a copy so I can take the vinyl quality with me. The style of this turntable is very attractive. I think the hanging anti-skate weight is a nice touch and adds a whimsical vintage feel. The bluetooth function is easy to set up and much appreciated for when I want to hear something I don’t add on vinyl.

Overall, I would recommend this setup to anyone at this price. It might not be a recognized brand, but you are definitely getting your moneys worth. With a good stereo system and an upgraded needle this turntable will perform as well as many of the more expensive priced options. It will become the main piece in my stereo in place of my Audio Technica.

Greetings! I hope my review of this item will be helpful to all, both sellers and potential buyers! The quick overall: This is definitely worth what you pay for!

To start, the packaging it arrived in was very clean and neat. Not too much difficulty unpacking and organizing along my basement area where I planned to put it. The parts box was well-organized and even listed exactly what was inside. I was impressed with the quality packaging.

Assembly was relatively easy to follow with the provided instruction booklet. I am a newbie when it comes to having to assemble a tonearm, so for me it got a little tricky and took the most time in the whole process (maybe about 45 minutes). The instructions provided a very nice layout of exactly how to do it and values to aim for when setting the counterweight. I would recommend reading it over carefully a few times and possibly research a few videos online if you need a visual aid. The counterweight itself was easy enough to put on and adjust to level it, however, when it came to assembling the anti-skate weight, this is where I ran into a small dilemma. The loop of the wire on the anti-skate weight (it feels like a very small, fine piece of fishing line) was not tied off so I had to get a flash-light, magnifying glass, and needle nose pliers to knot it off at the right notch. Once I got that done, everything else was relatively easy. One thing that had me a little baffled is that this product came with what looks like a little “key” thing that was not noted anywhere in the instructions (I included a picture). I fumbled around with it and thought that it was supposed to be used to adjust the anti-skate weight somehow, but I really have no idea. So, I stored it as an extra piece. Once fully assembled, though, the turntable itself looks very simplistic and neat, looks and feels solid, and is just really nice! It fits well in basically any setting, in my opinion. Right now, it looks beautiful on top of my media stand which houses my receiver.

Now for the performance and sound. This definitely sounds quite satisfactory and much better than the last turntable I owned! I had taken the time to try most, if not all, possible output settings. My main planned setting is connecting it to my A/V receiver in 7.1 surround. With this I had 3 options from the turntable itself: Phono output, Line output, or USB. Using the Phono output, it has a lower signal and weaker volume but has a very nice full range and more balanced sound between bass and treble as it was utilizing the preamp on my receiver. From there I was able to use specific settings on my receiver to achieve whatever preset or equalization I wanted. The only drawback is that there is a small hum in my center speaker in this setting. Could be that I am just using a 14-gauge speaker wire as a ground, but it’s only noticeable if I literally have my ear right next to the speaker. Using the Line-in output, I got a clean signal with a slightly higher volume and utilizing the preamp built into the turntable. I’d have to say that the turntable preamp does a pretty nice job, but I noticed that it was very treble heavy compared to the phono level. It was still a satisfactory sound, but I preferred the fullness and balance of the phono output. The USB output utilizes my computer soundcard as essentially a Mic-in input. My computer is then output to my receiver. I’d say the sound quality is the equivalent of the Line-in except it had a slightly noticeable echo. This might be because the cartridge is picking up surrounding sounds/elements from anything near it and acting like a microphone. Overall, all outputs are very close in quality and I think it all depends on the receiver. Note that these 3 options do not utilize the volume knob on the top of the turntable whatsoever. That is solely for the final option, to hook the turntable up to the provided speakers. I’ll admit I had no real intention of ever using the speakers. However, I decided to give it a go. When I hooked these up, I was pretty amazed at the overall quality and volume of the output. It has a pretty respectable bass response as well, I think even slightly better than my receiver? It actually gets pretty loud, too, when I cranked up the dial. Needless to say, I was impressed with the sound quality. The sound is clear, it can fill up a sizeable room, and it gives me an added option of making this turntable somewhat portable within places in my house (or maybe even bring to a small party). The only thing that I ponder is that it was advertised as 36W power rating, but the speakers themselves say 18W power rating. Maybe I’m a noob, but is it just the combined power rating?

Overall, I’d say this competes well with other turntables in this price range for everything it has to offer. You definitely get a high-quality sound from the 1byone that satisfies my listening pleasure! I will also say, taking some time to balance the tonearm really makes a difference. I have had virtually 0 skips on every record I’ve played on it (at the time of this writing, around 2 months of regular use and roughly close to 100 combinations of 33s and 45s), except for a few older records I own that were just scratched heavily or damaged in certain spots! Of note, the stylus cartridge they use is the Audio-Technica AT3600L, which I feel is a good-quality needle. It may help to research the specs for this stylus and also invest in a stylus scale (which are relatively inexpensive) if you want to balance the tonearm more specifically and put the least amount of wear on the stylus and your records. If you are looking to upgrade to a pleasurable listening experience or get into what may be considered “entry-level” audiophile without breaking the bank, then this is for you! I can’t speak for a pure audiophile, but I’d have to say I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to anyone in similar settings and circumstances. Hope this review helps and all of you potential buyers find this review useful. I highly recommend this product and this company! Happy buying!

This turntable hi-fi stereo (36 watts) with bookshelf speakers does a simply fabulous job at playing vinyl, 33s or 45s. Plus it has Bluetooth connectivity so that you can play the mp3 music on your phone or tablet or livestream. I live in a senior community and twice a month present an interactive music appreciation program taking records from my collection. The 1 By One is easy to move on a cart and set-up, use and then take down. Putting the machine together is easy and the instructions are clear to follow. The tonearm comes already assembled with an excellent AudioTechnica cartridge that is matched with the speakers: the sound is extraordinary for their size. All you need to do is install the rubber band on the motor spindle and interior drive wheel (a new band can be ordered from the manufacturer when the original has stretched out); assemble the counterweight; balance the tonearm; dial in the tracking weight and hang the anti-skating counter-weight. I have only a few minor caveats. The hifi pre-amp and amp section have a computer that listens to the music. When the sound grows too soft (like with classical music) the unit has a tendency to shut off. This is remedied by playing the music louder. This idiosyncrasy should not be a problem for rock, hip-hop or jazz listeners. The speaker cables are of fine wire, color-coded with tinned ends. Those ends are liable to beak off, so it is a good idea to have a set of wire cutters handy for removing the outer insolation. Heavier speaker cable (16 or 18 gauge) can be substituted, but this is only necessary if you plan to relocate and reassemble the system (as I do every other Wednesday.) Besides Bluetooth the unit comes with a port for hooking up to a computer and has two RCA jack line level outputs for using the turntable separately with a large component system. The 1 By One fully satisfies all my needs. The more recent iteration of this set comes with auto-tone arm return, which would make life perfect. I regret nothing about my purchase of this marvelous machine and unequivocally recommend it to anyone looking for a cost-effective way to play their vinyl.
