I gave this to my daughter as a gift. She was obsessed with the original clue game as a child and I thought this sounded like a more advanced version and it sure is! Very fun.

This game is very fun to play especially in a group of about 4-5 but it takes a while to get the hang of. We had to watch a couple of videos online to understand the purpose of some of the pieces because the instruction manual said nothing about the little storm cloud pieces leaving us confused. Would still highly suggest for a small party game.

You have to have enough players, at least 5, not four people. This is for five people board game!

We have another type of Clue game and we love it. So we decided to try this one. We read the rules, watched the videos on youtube about how to play and we still didn't get it completely. I think the idea is interesting, but the ruleas are overcomplicated. Great size for travelling for those who gets the rules :-).
P.S.
We are in our mid 40-ies and have good education, just in case :-).

I bought this before Christmas but only broke it out of the box recently. We had some friends over for a games night and decided to open this up from it's brand new box. It took a good bit of time to set up, and the leaflet was a little complicated. It wasn't until the very end of the setup that I realised we were missing a card from the pack too.

It seems like a good game in theory, but it was a big disappointment to find a missing piece that meant we couldn't play the game.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's clue as a social deduction game like werewolf or resistance Avalon

This game is great, and I love the components choice of having the publicly known character be an envelope while the hidden role of whether they are good or evil or conspiracy leader as a card that goes in the envelope itself. Most games where you have a publicly known persona or identity but also a hidden alignment like good or evil will just have two separate cards so as an innovation in usage of components, this is really impressive and handy .

The game is great and it takes most of the thematic workings of clue itself and spins it into kind of a sequel of that game thematically where this happens after that game takes place and this is about a conspiracy to enact or prevent a murder rather than merely a deduction of a murder that's already taken place which happened at body mansion. In terms of thematics, this feels a little bit like it borrows somewhat from glass onion as well.

In terms of gameplay, it only has some similarity to original clue in as much as everyone is playing one of the basic characters and there is deduction elements and process of elimination elements with figuring out some things, but overall it is a new game that is in the resistance Avalon category of social deduction games that are slightly more complex than simply mafia or werewolf but still quite simple and fun and just a step above party games in terms of complexity but much lighter than many other more serious gamer focused games.

I also want to address one of the one star comments I saw that didn't really offer much in the way of specific critique except how much they hated it but not really why with the exception of citing that it took 20 minutes for four players to get through the rules and set up the game for the first time. So I want to note that I'm not sure if that person has much experience with hobby games or tabletop games generally besides the very well-known and classic 20th century ones or party games, both of which I like, but I just would like to admonish that person and everyone else to have kind of an open mind that in the broader range of more complex hobby games and tabletop games, including party ones, this is not an overly complex game nor is it a difficult game to learn. It's certainly going to take more time to learn a game than to play a game that you already know all the rules to by heart because perhaps you started learning them around the same time you started learning to talk, like how many of us were with Clue or Monopoly etc. But the fact that this is a new game and for four adults it took 20 minutes to get the game set up and learn the rules from scratch the first time, this is a very modest and small and light footprint as far as set up time and rules complexity when we are talking about clearly four non-hobby gamers playing and learning a game for the very first time. For that purpose and for the amount of fun you get, 20 minutes as a one-time first game only rules learning and set up session is not a big ask and certainly not big enough to warrant calling the game trash that should be flushed down the toilet. I just want to note that because I'm concerned that that review was written in haste rather than with sober reflection and thoughtfulness.

5.0 out of 5 stars SAFE BUY FOR FAMILY FUN

Our family of six, teens and adults, loved this game. We play games at least once a week and have bought too many games that collect dust after one try. Either there is no skill involved, the directions are confusing, or the games take too long. THIS GAME HIT THE SWEET SPOT. The directions were very well written and easy to follow. The first game was great, the second was a blast, and the only reason we didn’t play a third was because it was getting too late. This is a safe buy for someone looking to buy a new, interesting game for the family.

This game was a little difficult to learn at first, but once you get the hang of it it is so much fun! It’s definitely better with more people, if you play with 4-5 it’s easy to figure out who is who.
