I've always bought my own phones and always used PAYG sim cards. Because of those and often because of the extortionate prices of some phones I've always kept with the budget price phones. At best a mid range like my previous honor magic 5a phone.

Let me just say I'm so glad I took a risk on the pixel. The phone itself is stunning, really well built. The camera and the AI tools are phenomenal and I find myself using the camera just because it's fun. The UI is smooth and responsive and the OLED screen is crystal clear.

Other features like wireless charging and Google assistant are really nice, and add a premium touch.

The only thing that seems inferior is battery life. The battery on the pixel 8 will still last you 24 hours or more but I was spoiled by the honor having a 2 day battery with mid usage.

Bought this mainly as Google offers the best period of security updates of the manufacturers currently. The period of updates is from when the phone was first introduced for sale not when you bought it. So that if the update period for a phone is 5 years and you buy it when it first comes out you get 5 years of updates. If you buy a phone and it has been out for 3 years you only get 2 years of updates.
There has also been a good reduction in price since introduction. Plenty of places to read reviews of this phone. I am happy with the purchase.

For the price you pay, get a pretty awesome phone. Very responsive, lovely design and difference features that you don't get with an apple, Google lens etc. If there was any negatives it would be battery life but I am happy with it and not enough to knock off a star.

For the price of £550 (on offer) the Pixel 8 is fantastic value for the performance of the hardware. It's very snappy, the screen image is great, camera is great, and the facial and fingerprint unlock work smoothly. No complaints at all.

However, I've docked a star because Android vanilla on the Pixel is too annoying with mandatory features and a lack of granularity over some settings. I've resorted to use a third party launcher and was forced to disable vibration completely just to turn off the haptic unlock buzz. A shame that my old OnePlus Nord had a better implementation of Android than an actual Google phone.

Honestly get this phone over the 8 pro, it basically has all the same features minus a camera. It's super fast and easy to use and you can take some of the best pictures whilst on the go!

The price point and the added extra of the ear buds were a nice touch and I now use them daily too.

Also, I find the keyboard nice to use with its haptic feedback and makes typing easier and quicker than most phones.

The phone appeared to be good at first but after two months there are the following issues:

- the ui is slow
- it struggles to maintain phone calls
- the photo ai is terrible (do not believe the adverts, the ai only works well on images captured in really good and unrealistic conditions)
- the UI and phone freezes

I really wanted to like this phone, but now recommend going with a different manufacturer.

Una pasada, la experiencia Pixel.

Vengo del Xiaomi 12, la batería dura bastante más que en mi modelo anterior, me dura un día entero sin problema y con batería de sobra para hacer la noche en reposo. Lo llevo todo a tope, brillo, notificaciones, pantalla fluida a 120hz...y la batería me da de sobra. Si eres un entendido en Android y Roms, seguro que le puedes instalar alguna otra que te guste más y consuma menos. El teléfono tiene comunidades en telegram en la que se comparten apps, o info o consejos muy útiles.

El sistema operativo una pasada, las fotos más todavía. La mejor cámara en un móvil de su rango de precio. Por 600€ aprox, es un golazo, si lo encuentras más barato más aún. El almacenamiento, bueno 128 GB que si te administras, dan para mucho, siempre puedes comprar almacenamiento en la nube o pagar un poquito más por los 256.

Los bugs que había al principio, se han ido solucionando con actualizaciones.

Experiencia Android completa, limpia y fluida desde el minuto 1. El móvil aprende de tus patrones de uso y las funciones de IA para las fotos son geniales. Actualizaciones de Android prácticamente mensuales, serás de los primeros en recibir las nuevas versiones sin capas de personalización molestas por el medio.

Sin duda, lo recomiendo si quieres un móvil bonito, bien construido y muy capaz sin tener que gastarte 1000 y pico euros en el iPhone o Samsung gama alta de turno.
