Hard to fault the R7 as it just works.
Inn the hand it feels good and of a good weight. The screen quality is good and really pops out without being overly saturated with colour.
Charging is very quick with the included charger and standard with a regular usb cable.

Dual SIM functionality works as expected and is easy to setup.

Some tips:
If you want dual SIM to work you will need a micro and a nano SIM. If you wish to use data from then the nano SIM ensure that you select 4g inn the SIM tools app otherwise it'll stick to 2g and be really slow.
Also consider removing the screen protector that is already applied for you.I found the screen to feel better without it. Subjective i know , but it's an option.

Android functions as it should and I've yet to have a problem with it at all.

Other useful observations: external speaker is really loud, be careful! Theme manager is pretty and nice to have out of the box. Perform a software update from within the About Phone setting so you'll receive the latest software from Oppo directly.

Downsides, none really. It looks beautiful and is a bargain. More than enough power for gaming, browsing etc and plenty of storage and memory.

Hello. I bought this phone as a birthday gift for my girlfriend. She was very excited and loved it. Everything was perfect, until the batery died and we realized it is defective, as the batery is not recharging. We hoped it's a charger problem, as we read online that some other guys experienced this, but we soon realized this is not our case, as it works on my phone.
We are very disappointed after this experience, as she wanted this phone really much.

Great deal and very cool phone, no issues whatsoever , fast , reliable , camera is great front and back , best thing is the fast charge why other flagship products don't have this is beyond me! Overall excellent build quality and the battery lasts me all day with 40% still remains by the time I get home. Screen is excellent especially for the money.

I have always owned Android phones that could be described as the maker's "flagship": Samsung S, S2, S3 & S4, HTC One M8. this is to say that I am accustomed to have a good quality product and with that in mind I decided to purchase the R7 for my wife.
The Good:
Great screen: vivid colours and great resolution: really no difference with Samsung's amoled, for example.
Interface: this is a matter of personal preference, but I loved what Oppo did with the interface.
Looks: this is a great looking phone, it's a pleasure to hold and use and its aluminium case is of comparable quality with the HTC One.
The Bad:
4G operating frequencies: this phone won't work on all operators. Oppo clearly states on their web site the operating bands for this phone and the 800Mhz which is exclusively used by O2 and mainly by Vodafone is not supported. I verified that EE works fine and Three should also work, but Vodafone will only work where the 2600Mhz band is used (not around where I live, apparently).
Android version: this phone is still on Android 4.4 while any handset of this class should at least be on 5.0. Oppo's forums are flooded with users requests to have an update but there is never an answer.
The Awful:
camera, Camera, CAMERA. I can't really describe how poor the quality of the pictures produced by this phone are. In bright sunny light, you can almost get acceptable snaps otherwise there is a distinctive pixelation that should not be there on a device in year 2015. My 6 years old Samsung Galaxy S takes MUCH better pictures than this Oppo. This is a known issue discussed in Oppo's forum, but again the company seems to have decided to ignore the issue and focus their efforts in producing other handsets.

In the end my wife could have lived with an old Android software and the limited 4G frequencies (she's on EE anyway) but the real deal-breaker for us was the abysmal quality of the camera as my wife loves shooting with her phone.
We returned the device and purchased instead the Huawei P8 for a similar price: even though the camera lenses and sensors have the same specs, the quality of the shots is in an entire other league.

This could have been really a great phone: it's wonderfully built and it's obvious that premium materials were used to manufacture it. If you can live with its shortcomings (particularly its terrible camera) it could be worth considering.

I'm really getting on well with this phone; it's a strong all-round device and great value for money, even more so with all the extras that come with the device(VOOC power bank, transparent case, screen protector, headphones).

It's construction is its strongest point. There's no need for me to repeat the product description, I will just say that it is a pleasure to hold in the hand.
The software is pretty good. Runs smooth and has a lot of useful features added by Oppo, especially the gesture functions from screen-off.
VOOC rapid charging works really well, taking, at most, an hour to fully charge the phone from 1%, which is useful as the phone has an average battery life.

It's not quite perfect though.
The processor can throttle when under heavy load, something I thought only affected the Snapdragon 810 processors or current flagships.
Also, while I love its AMOLED display's deep blacks, its high colour saturation bugs me, and there is no option to adjust it.; some skin tones looking especially weird makes me wonder if some of the colours are calibrated wonky too.
It should also be noted that the phone comes running an OS built on Android Kit-Kat, but has similar functions to Lollipop added. I hear it's getting an update eventually, but it would of been nice if it had Lollipop out of the box like its sister phone the R7 Plus.

I would recommend this phone to anyone looking for a phone that's great value for money, or even just a good phone a step bellow flagships.
