Honor Note 8 with 6.6″ 2K AMOLED Display & 4500mAh Battery Launched in China

Earlier this year, Honor launched two new high-end smartphones – Honor V8 and Honor 8. Both the devices came with dual rear cameras as seen on Huawei P9 and P9 Plus but without Leica branding. Now the company had launched a new phablet called Honor Note 8 which was earlier rumored to be called as Honor V8 Max. It sports a huge 2.5D 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display on the front with QuadHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

It is powered Kirin 955 octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz and comes with 4GB of RAM. It will be available in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB of storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage additionally up to 128GB. Unlike the earlier Honor V8 and Honor 8, the new Note 8 comes with a 13MP single camera with PDAF and dual tone LED flash. For selfies, there is an 8MP front camera with wide-angle lens. It also supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE.

As the device comes with a large display, it also packs a huge 4500mAh battery that can easily last more than a day of usage. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with the latest EMUI 4.1 laid on top. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz & 5GHz, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The device measures just 7.18mm thickness and weighs 219 grams.

Coming to the pricing, Honor Note 8 with 32GB storage is priced at 2299 Yuan, 64GB variant at 2499 Yuan and 128GB variant at 2799 Yuan. The pre-booking starts from today and sales start from August 9th in China. Along with the Honor Note 8, the company also launched the entry-level Honor 5 smartphone priced at just 599 Yuan. As of there is no information about the availability of both these devices in India. While the Honor 8 is expected to be made official soon in international markets.
