Even if this was $100, that's no flagship performance for the price. It might be good value, but not excellent, flagship specs for entry level money. Learn to make the difference

Value for money, essentially flagship performance for budget prices. Might make you look cheap. But only stupidly rich people should be buying the flagships.

These phones are outstanding value for money. For regular use I never have issues with lagging. I eventually managed to crack the screen at Christmas, but it still works fine.
The only issues with these phones are:
Size. They are massive, but this allows for ruggedness and bigger batteries.
2 lack of updates. I have not received a system update for three years. It doesn't matter. I haven't found anything this phone won't do. It means that when I update it I will have more pleasure from the newer Android version (or frustration, because it's different)

Anonymous, 30 Jan 2024Just bought it. The specs don't look bad at all. Waiting to receive it and?

It might get worse despite 7 years of Samsung updates since some of them only sport 128Gb storage.
Sid, 17 Jan 2024Why do we need this? This is too much thickness. Why don't we simply carry a powerbank? This isn't for the Starbucks crowd. Besides, there's AGM H6 phone made for handlets that cannot handle thicc phones. π

Sid, 17 Jan 2024Why do we need this? This is too much thickness. Why don't we simply carry a powerbank? Its for people who work in jobs which need a secure, environmental proof phone that maybe the company can mass buy for cheap. That ot more someone with servere mental ir physical disabilities that need a super rugged phone with longer than ususl battery for 24/7 support etc.

David 040882, 17 Jan 2024But how's their software/software support? Definitely not up there to today's standa... moreYeah, phones from brands like Doogee, Blackview and Ulefone has very inconsistent and uncertain update schedule which is considered a downside for some and even a major reason to not buy anything from them.
To me, as long as the phone get security patches and stays stable, I'm okay. None of my current phones (Infinix Zero X Pro and a refurbished/second-hand Samsung Galaxy Note10) gets updates anymore and I plan to keep both for more years.

At least some brands don't care about that and do whatever they please. We can only hope other "big" brands does something similar for affordable prices, which I doubt they would do.
Back to topic, Blackview is doing very interesting devices lately. 5G connectivity and decent chipsets, tons of RAM and internal storage for the a quarter of price of many phones from the brands I mentioned above.
justasmile, 17 Jan 2024Or maybe a Mi 11 Ultra with custom ROM π But I hate curved screens, that's the thing.Yeah, we all know you do. But looking at the choices... The Mi 11 Ultra's the best deal you'll get with a secondary screen... At least for now

justasmile, 17 Jan 2024I wonder why phones can't have a small second screen on the back? They can, but most companies probably don't care too much about it since they prob don't see it as a big selling point. It would also be somewhat more expensive. Plus, the thickness of the phone/camera bump would be substantially bigger. Just look at the Mi 11 Ultra. I'm not against it, but I can kinda see why companies aren't using this idea. Plus, you have the foldable flips if you want a secondary cover display
